It Must Have Been Something I Ate

Living well - with a little help from our friends.

Have any of you had negative experiences with weight loss programs such as Jenny Craig or Dr. Bernstein? or positive experiences? I know you've been doing great on Weight Watchers, Pat!

I'm soooo stinking mad! there is a new "playa" in the industry..... like we need another. The "U" weight loss team. Advertising on our local radio station like CRAZY. Every 15 minutes. Guess who the principal owner of it is???? James Hyssen ..... who?? Herbal Magic's main man until he sold out his share. More of the same. UGH. Now they're offering "family deals". I'd be all for something that supported a family. This is another obvious plan to load someone up on herbal remedies, dextoxing, cleanses.....and make the largest loss come from one's wallet. Okay, off soap box now.

Before my last pregnancy I lost 38 lbs, and it was all kicked off by Dr.Phil! I read the book, (well, most of it), and started off by following his program of 3 proteins, 2 carbs, etc... I can't remember it all now. I'm just a firm believer in the simple fact of calories in vs energy expended! I'm sure any diet can work, at least for awhile, and it helps to motivate us toward our goals when we see the scale go down, but most of us can't live with a severe diet for long! I've read that we have to lose the weight the way we're going to keep it off, and that makes total sense to me! Much as we'd like a magic program, we just have to actually do the work of eating a bit less and moving a bit more! Now, if only that was as easy to do as to say... and if that darn black forest cheesecake in my fridge didn't taste sooo much better than salad!!!
